N.J. Bar favors study of alimony statutes

The New Jersey State Bar Association takes issue with the mischaracterization made about its position on an Alimony Study Commission in your Feb. 25 editorial (“Alimony laws warrant review”) and Tom Leustek’s op-ed (“Lobby blocks alimony reform”) published Feb. 27.

The New Jersey State Bar Association has been an aggressive supporter of a thorough and thoughtful consideration of the issues related to alimony through the creation of an Alimony Study Commission that would survey the state of the law and make recommendations about the path forward.
